The Peace Corps of Nigeria is celebrating a remarkable milestone today, marking 27 years service to promoting peace, security, and national development.
During the anniversary celebration, the Executive Director of the National Civil Society Council of Nigeria (NCSCN, Ambassador Blessing Akinlosotu made an appeal to Senate President Godswill Akpabio to expedite the passage of the Peace Corps of Nigeria Bill into law.
The bill, which aims to establish the Nigerian Peace Corps as a statutory body, has garnered significant support from lawmakers.
Its passage would provide the Corps with the necessary legal framework to effectively tackle security challenges, promote peace education, and empower Nigerian youths.
