The President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), Chief Mrs Gloria Laraba Shoda, states readiness of the council and Nigerian women to work with the federal government o achieve goals of the “Change Begins with Me” campaign launched by President Muhammadu Buhari.
 A statement she signed said that the NCWS leader made this known when she recently led a delegation of executives and members of the NCWS on a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Engr. Babachir Lawal in Abuja.
 The statement said that the campaign aimed to instil discipline and patriotism among Nigerians.

The statement said: “We believe women should be wholesomely equipped to actively participate in this vision. The process of public service and nation building is one in which women are very keen to participate as equal partners.”
It appealed to the federal government to ensure that issues concerning women such as education, health and economic empowerment were placed at the front burner of the nation’s development agenda.
 It also appealed for increase in number of slots for women at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, near Jos.
The statement urged the federal government to appoint women as heads of boards of parastatals and agencies, saying that women should also contribute their quota to the country’s development.
 Speaking, Lawal charged women to use their positions to instil good moral values in younger generation.
 He also urged women to apply their knowledge and skills for the growth of their community.
 “The moral values begin from the home and for the “Change Begins with Me’’ initiative to work, women need to support the campaign,” he said.
 He said that the federal government would grant soft loans to women to boost the economy.
