The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the closure of the sale of Expression of Interest forms for aspirants seeking the party’s presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
However, the party extended the deadline for the collection of Expression of Interest forms for the State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, and governorship positions from May 17 to May 24, 2026.
This was contained in a statement signed by the party’s National Secretary, Mr. Ikenna Enekweizu, in Abuja on Monday.
According to the statement, the screening of aspirants who have purchased and completed their Expression of Interest forms will begin on Tuesday and end on May 26.
The party added that the collection and return of nomination forms for all screened and cleared aspirants will commence on Wednesday and close on May 26.
The NDC stressed that no further extensions would be granted beyond the stipulated deadlines, urging all aspirants to comply strictly with the guidelines and timelines.
Aspirants were directed to appear for screening and pre-qualification interviews at designated venues across the country. They must present relevant documents.
According to the statement, the screening process will evaluate aspirants based on the wishes of the electorate, local peculiarities, capacity, competence, and character.
