The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has felicitated with Muslims in the Niger Delta and Nigeria on the commencement of the 2019 Ramadan fasting.
The Acting Managing Director of the NDDC, Professor Nelson Brambaifa, in a statement on Monday expressed the commissions well-wishes to Muslim faithful.
He said “On behalf of the people of the Niger Delta, the management and Staff of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, I wish you the best and the grace of Allah to keep you strong,” the statement read.
Prof. Brambaifa also urged all Muslims to use the holy month to pray for Nigeria and its leaders, most especially the number one citizen, President Muhammadu Buhari.
“The spiritual purpose of this fasting is the surrender, submission to a higher authority, which is the creator, Allah. As we commence this fasting and prayers to the Almighty Allah for the next one month, which shall culminate into a great Sallah celebration. Our muslim brothers and sisters are to pray for the peace and overall development of our great country,” the statement added.
He also called on Nigerians to seize the opportunity to proclaim the peace and good in the Niger Delta and Nigeria.
