The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is to construct the Mbiabong Itam-Ikot Anse Road in Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State next year.

The Managing Director of the commission, Mr. Nsima Ekere, announced this on Saturday during the funeral of a retired Director of Personnel in the Akwa Ibom State Local Government system, Elder Inyang Willie Akpan.

He promised to send a team to survey the road to enable its construction to be included in the NDDC 2017 budget.

Mr. Ekere used the opportunity to assure the people of Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency that all ongoing NDDC projects there would be completed.

He commiserated with the state government and the families of the victims of the recent Reigners Bible Church building collapse. “Our prayer is that this type of affliction will not arise a second time,” he said.
