The Wife of the President, Hajiya Aisha Buhari under her pet project ‘Future Assured Initiative’ in collaboration with National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced training of 200 women in Kano state.
The beneficiaries were drawn from 44 local government areas of the state.
Speaking at the official flag-off of the training, the Director General of the NDE, Dr Nasiru Muhammed Ladan said the gesture would help reduce rate of unemployment among women in the state.
Represented by the directorate’s Head of Women Empowerment, Malama Aisha Ibrahim, he said the training would also help women generate more income, adding that the beneficiaries would be trained in different skills including confessionary, insecticides making and interior decoration among others.
Similarly, Special Adviser to Kano State Governor on Youth, Hajiya Surayya Aminu revealed that, addressing unemployment among girls and women had been a major goal the Ganduje-led administration set to achieve.
She said Kano state government was ready to partner with other bodies on any positive development initiative that would better up the lives of people in the state.
“Women and youth empowerment has been a priority to the present administration of Kano. The state government is ready to partner with any organization to make women more productive with a view to reducing unemployment among them,” Surayya said.
