The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), says, it will withdraw the cash from the beneficiaries if not properly utilised.
N25,000 loan was disbursed to each of 30 unemployed women in Plateau to startup business under the Small Scale Enterprise of the scheme.
The loan was disbursed to the beneficiaries who were earlier trained on decorative paint making, wig and headgears skills in the state.
The Director General of the Scheme, represented by the State Coordinator of the NDE, Mallam Ibrahim Abdul’azeez, at the disbursement ceremony, in Jos, said the money was a loan expected to be paid in subsequent time.
“For that reason,I urged the participants to use the money judiciously. This might only be your last opportunity to participate in this kind of programme. We don’t recircle the beneficiaries. We often bring new ones so that others will benefit from the numerous programmes we organise.
“We will be monitoring you through your addresses to know if you invest in the skills you were trained you on. Whoever is found not utilizing the money as expected, we will withdraw the loan, “ the Coordinator added.
One of the participants, Amina Yusuf, thanked the scheme for organising such a skill workshops and hoped that the programme would continue. She said she had learned a lot through the training period and would ensure that the money given to her was appropriately used
