The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Benue State has commenced the training of 100 youths drawn from the three senatorial districts of the state in various entrepreneurship skills.
Our correspondent reports that the training was in tandem with the Entrepreneurship Skills Development Training (ESDT) under the Small Scale Enterprises (SSE) of the NDE Benue State by the Director -General, Alhaji Abubakar Fikpo.
Flagging off the exercise in Makurdi, the new Benue State Co-ordinator, Emmanuel Ugela, said that the training of the 100 persons by NDE was being done in collaboration with Nazeemura Nigeria Limited, Abuja.
“This is a modest attempt by the private sector to partner with the government to address the unemployment challenges facing Nigeria as the government alone cannot handle the problem of unemployment,” he said.
Reacting to the gesture, one of the participants who is physically challenged, Janet Akosu, said she was excited and would use the opportunity to better live for herself and the baby.
