The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced the training of 25 people under the Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS) in Kaduna State.

The Acting State Coordinator (NDE), Victoria Dada, who made this known at the official flag-off of the training said the one-week programme will train participants on the practical application of government agricultural policies like provision of incentives, linkages to other sources of funds to further create employment, promote high productivity and quality life.

Dada said the training was a significant step in Nigeria’s quest to win the war against mass unemployment as well as to ameliorate the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. She added that the NDE as the apex job creation agency of the federal government had in the last three decades remained at the forefront in the fight against poverty and joblessness.

The acting State Coordinator also encouraged youths to be dedicated and accept agriculture as a means of livelihood, rather than looking for white-collar jobs.

In his remarks, Director-General Abubakar Nuhu Fiko, who was represented by Edene Paschal, urged the participants to take their training seriously.
