The new Director General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Dr. Nasiru Ladan has promised to reposition the Directorate by injecting new ideas and strategies into the job creation drive of the Directorate in line with best global practices.
The Directorate in a statement issued by the Assistant Director in the department of information, Lawan Musa quoted the new DG as saying under the new policy plan; the NDE would not limit itself to job creation.
He said the Directorate would also assist Nigerians who are already into small and micro businesses with cutting-edge business skills to enable them expand and also accommodate other Nigerians seeking employment.
He added that diligence will be observed in Skills acquisitions and resettlement, as trainings shall be tailored towards the peculiarities of each state and local government within the federation.
The new DG assured the staff of the Directorate of better days. According to him, staff welfare shall be one of the cardinal objectives of his administration and staff will receive capacity upgrade in different areas.
He however urged them to be disciplined, loyal and productive. He warned that there shall be no room for lawlessness, laziness and truancy, as members of staff will be encouraged to acquire new skills in order to be more productive and able to contribute to national growth.
