The Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has constructed a borehole for a community in Dakata area of Tarauni local government in Kano to address water shortage in the neighbourhood.
Speaking to newsmen at the launch of the borehole, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NDIC, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim, said the project was the fifth to be donated to communities in Kano.

He said they embarked on the projects as part of their corporate social responsibility which is being carried out nationwide.
The community leader, Rabiu Nabegu, praised the corporation for the kind gesture and promised that they would take good care of the borehole to ensure that it remains useful to the community.
