The Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has constructed and donated a multi million Naira research complex to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) as part of its corporate social gesture.
The one-storey complex constructed at the institute’s premises in Kuru near Jos, was decided upon by the management of the corporation because of the infrastructure need being faced by NIPSS, Managing Director of NDIC, Alhaji Umaru Ibrahim said at the presentation of the complex.
 Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who commissioned the complex hailed NDIC for its social responsibility programme, which he said has added value to NIPSS. He said no nation will make any meaningful progress without supporting its research base institutions.
The vice president, who was represented by Ibrahim Mohammed Yabani, a director in his office, said the founding fathers of the institute were inspired to establish NIPSS to be a citadel for public policy research and analysis as well as proffer sound advice to help government make informed choices about urgent and strategic issues of domestic and international concern.
He noted that the office complex being commissioned is to provide a conducive environment that would engender high productivity among research fellows.
The NDIC boss, Alhaji Umaru Ibrahim disclosed  that the NDIC board and management have identified with the infrastructure needs of the National institute stressing that the decision to donate the research complex is a practical demonstration of the corporation’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and manifestation of a true partner in progress.
Director General of NIPSS, Professor Tijjani Mohammed Bandi appreciated the corporate gesture, and enjoined other corporate organisations to imitate NDIC in adding value to research development.
