The gesture was part of the corporate social responsibility of the NDIC meant to enhance students’ knowledge in computer education.
Speaking during the formal commissioning of the edifice, Alhaji Umaru Ibrahim, the Chief  Executive Officer of NDIC, said the duty of the organisation was not only to pay off customers of failed banks, adding that it also involved the sponsoring of projects with direct influence on lives.
Ibrahim, represented by the Director of Human Resources, Alhaji Aminu Ahmed, said that NDIC has constructed e-library at some federal and state universities at the cost of over N100m.
He said: “We decided to move down to the secondary level because we discovered that university students are products of secondary school and the earlier they begin to use the e- library system the better for the country, especially now that the world has turned into a global village via internet.
“I want to appeal to students, staffs and management of Sardauna Memorial College to protect this project so that it will not only benefit them but the future generation.”
In his remark, the principal of the college Rev. Samuel Haruna said the library was the first of its kind in Kaduna State, adding that it would serve as a reference point to post-primary institutions in the state.
 He called on others organisation and Nigerians to borrow a leaf from NDIC by donating computers to the library as they are in dire need of about 30 computer sets to make the library functional.
