The Super Eagles camp in Antalya, Turkey, received a significant boost yesterday with the arrival of six additional players, bringing the total number in camp to 22 as preparations intensify for upcoming international friendlies.
Among the latest arrivals are Captain Wilfred Ndidi, Ademola Lookman and Akor Adams, whose inclusion strengthens the team’s attacking options. They joined early arrivals such as Alex Iwobi, Moses Simon, Paul Onuachu, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and several others already in camp.
Also confirmed are key players including Samuel Chukwueze, Raphael Onyedika, Zaidu Sanusi, and Maduka Okoye, as the squad edges closer to full strength.
The team is camped at the Bellis Deluxe Hotel, where training sessions are already underway. Head coach Eric Chelle is expected to use the sessions to fine-tune tactics and build cohesion within the squad ahead of the fixtures.
Nigeria will take on Iran on March 27 before facing Jordan on March 31, with both matches scheduled to be played in Antalya after being relocated from Amman due to security concerns in the Middle East.
Chelle had earlier named a 23-man squad but will be without first-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, while star striker Victor Osimhen is sidelined due to injury despite being based in Turkey as well as Calvin Bassey who pulled out as a result of injury.
Midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been appointed captain for the friendlies, with Iwobi and Lookman expected to play key roles.
With most of the squad now available, the Super Eagles are set to step up preparations, focusing on building team chemistry and testing new combinations as they look ahead to future competitive engagements.
