The Delta State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 15 suspected drug traffickers across the state in January 2026.
The NDLEA Commander in the state, Halilu Hamidu, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the command’s achievements within the period under review.
He noted that the command also secured seven convictions from the Federal High Courts in Warri and Asaba during the same period.
According to him, all 15 arrested suspects have already been charged to court.
Commander Hamidu said the command seized 361.503 kg of various illicit substances, including cannabis sativa, cannabis seeds, Tramadol, Methamphetamine, Diazepam, Cocaine, Heroin, Swinol, Molly, and Cocodamol.
Additionally, he said 109.120 litres of liquid substances—including Codeine syrup, Pentazocine injection, Tramadol injection, and a mixture of cannabis and dry gin (popularly known as “monkey tail”)—were confiscated.
The commander further explained that 55 suspects were counseled during the period following the conclusion of investigations.
