The Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 46 suspected drug traffickers in the state.
The commander of the NDLEA in the state, Mitchell Ofoyeju, disclosed this in Benin while presenting the command’s scorecard for July 2025.
The 46 suspects, which include 38 males and eight females, were arrested at various drug hotspots across the state.
Among the suspects is Alaba Monday, a suspected drug lord and cannabis cultivator who has been on the command’s wanted list since 2023.
He was apprehended inside one of his cannabis farms, where eleven bags of processed cannabis weighing 115kg were seized.
The command also seized a total of 39,977.644 kilograms of assorted illicit drugs from the suspects during coordinated raids on Ihama Road and other drug hotspots.
