The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Benue State Friday said it has arrested 55 suspects in possession of over 600kg of outlawed substances from different locations of the state.
State Commander of NDLEA, Esther Lami Musa, made this known to newsmen in Makurdi shortly after a long walk to launch the agency’s new sensitisation strategy tagged: ‘War Against Drug Abuse (WADA)’.

Musa posited that since assuming office in the state 100 days ago, the total number of suspects arrested were 55 out of which 50 were males while the remaining were five females.
She disclosed that of the total over 600kg seized substances suspected to be hard drugs; cannabis sativa alone weighed 597.89kg; cocaine stood at 1.16kg; Amphetamine 1.69kg and Tramadol including others were 65.36kg.
