The Delta State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 89 suspected illicit drug traffickers in the state over the course of one month.
The NDLEA Commander in the state, Halilu Hamidu, disclosed this to journalists in Asaba, noting that the suspects were apprehended in August.
The 89 suspects, he said, comprise 61 males and 28 females and were arrested across the state.
Hamidu further revealed that the command also seized a total of 168.3294 kilograms of various illicit drugs during the period under review.
He added that the command also destroyed 10.2 hectares of cannabis farms across the state.
According to Hamidu, 15 suspects were charged to court, while 50 others received counseling during the period.
