The Delta State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Halilu Hamidu, has disclosed that the Agency has arrested 95 suspected illicit drug traffickers in the state.
He said the Agency also seized 21.4339 kilograms (kg) of illicit drugs, as well as 21.4339 litres of a mixture of cannabis and codeine/syrup and other substances within the period.
Hamidu disclosed this to journalists in Asaba, saying the suspects were apprehended in various locations in the state in the month of October.
According to him, out of the 95 suspects arrested, 71 were males, 24 females.
Hamidu listed the seized drugs to include: cannabis sativa (21.339 kg), Tramadol (1.5663 kg), Diazepam (0.423 kg), Swinol/Rophynol (0.638 kg), Molly (0.0062 kg), Methamphetamine (0.0846 kg), Cocaine (0.008 kg), and Heroin (0.013 kg).
