NDLEA arrests 96 suspects, seizes illicit drugs in Delta

The Delta State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 96 suspected illicit drug traffickers in the state in the month of September.

The command also seized 22.324 kilograms of illicit drugs, as well as 33.3 litres of a mixture of cannabis and dry gin within the period.

The NDLEA Commander in the state, Halilu Hamidu, disclosed this to journalists in Asaba, saying the suspects were apprehended in various locations in the state.

He said out of the 96 suspects arrested for illicit drug trafficking, 60 were males while 36 were females.

Halilu listed the seized drugs to include cannabis sativa (8.2141kg), Tramadol (10.4616kg), Diazepam (0.423kg), Swinol/Rophynol (2.4503kg), Molly (0.4108kg), Methamphetamine (0.317kg), Cocaine (0.03405kg), and Heroin (0.013kg).

He assured the command’s commitment to reducing the illicit drug trafficking and use in the state.
