The Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has decorated 61 newly promoted officers with their new ranks.

Decorating the officers in Benin, the State Commander, Mitchell Ofoyeju, charged the personnel to uphold high ethical standards, lead by example, and mentor junior officers.

He stated that the promotions are not merely changes in rank or title, but a recognition of the officers’ integrity, professionalism, and the sacrifices made in enforcing drug laws to ensure the safety of communities across Edo State. He further praised the officers for their courage and resilience in overcoming the challenges inherent in narcotics enforcement.

Ofoyeju also applauded the Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa-led administration for regularizing the promotion process within the agency.

Daily Trust reports that the promoted officers include nine Assistant Superintendents of Narcotics I, five Assistant Superintendents of Narcotics II, five Chief Narcotic Agents, 35 Senior Narcotic Agents and seven Narcotic Agents
