As part of ongoing efforts to curb illicit drug trafficking and cultivation, the Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has destroyed three cannabis farms in the state.

The NDLEA State Commander, Mitchell Ofoyeju, who disclosed this during a chat with journalists, said the farms measured 0.506739 hectares, with an estimated yield of 1,266.85 kilograms.

He further revealed that the agency’s Drug Demand Reduction Department has counseled 28 clients, who have since been reunited with their families.

He added that 11 others are currently undergoing rehabilitation, noting that the command’s drug prevention strategies are proving effective.

“The agency remains resolute and will continue to work tirelessly to dismantle drug trafficking cartels and create a safer, drug-free society for our citizens,” Ofoyeju said.
