Operatives of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kano State Command in preparation for Eid Alkhabir celebrations, stormed several notorious drug joints and intercepted 230,600 tablets of Tramadol along the Zaria-Kano road.
The breakthrough followed a three-day operation, which targeted locations including Sani Abacha Stadium, Karkasara Area, Sani Abacha Youth Centre, Dorayi Area, Dan Agundi graveyard, Brigade Mini Stadium and the infamous Filin Idi drug den.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, said: “The operation was mandated by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the agency, Brig. General Mohamed Buba Marwa and resulted in the arrest of 106 suspects, among which 11 were identified as major drug dealers; and recovery of exhibits including cannabis sativa, rubber solution, suck and die, Exol tablets, codeine syrup and some other illicit substances.”
He said these illicit substances were intended for distribution and use during the Eid El- Kabir celebrations.
He therefore said the Commander, Abubakar Idris Ahmad and the entire NDLEA Kano State Command are committed to eradicating the scourge of drug abuse and trafficking in Kano.
