The Edo State Chapter of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDELA), said it is currently rehabilitating 12 drug dependent persons arrested by the agency in the state.
The State Sector Commander of the NDLEA, Callys Alumona, disclosed this when he paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Osaigbovo Iyokha, in his office.
He further disclosed that the agency had also mopped up from the streets about 153,000kg of cannabis and other assorted drugs
He said the agency had destroyed four cannabis farms in the dry season farming of cannabis and sativa, leading to the destruction of about 14,000 tonnes of the hard drugs.
“About 12 drug abusers have been apprehended and are currently being rehabilitated. We have mopped up from the streets about 153,000kg of cannabis and other assorted drugs”
