The Kano State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a large consignment of illicit drugs intended for distribution during the upcoming Sallah celebrations.

Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the command recovered 75,000 capsules of Pregabalin, 556 bottles of Codeine, and a significant quantity of loose Cannabis Sativa (marijuana) in the Badawa area of Kano.

In a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASN Sadiq Muhammad Maigatati, the agency said the operation disrupted a major supply chain aimed at drug markets across the state.

The statement further noted that while the prime suspect is currently at large, he remains under close surveillance as efforts continue to secure his arrest.

The command commended members of the public for their continued cooperation and urged residents to remain vigilant, providing actionable intelligence to support the ongoing fight against drug trafficking.
