The Delta State Command of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 1,131 suspects and seized 2,265 kilogram of drugs value at N3 billion in one year in the state.
The NDLEA state commandant, Halilu Hamidu, who disclosed this to journalists said the suspects were arrested between January and December 12, 2025.
He listed the seized drugs to include, Cannabis 1,750kg, Cannabis Seeds 310.6 grams, Cocaine 224.65 grams, Heroin 32.3 grams, Methamphetamine 800.8 grams, Tramadol 311.9Kg, Swinol/Rohypnol 9.04Kg, Diazapam 20.01Kg, Exol 166Kg, Molly 2.1Kg, Hypnox 6.1Kg, and Cocodamol 13 grams.
Hamidu added that the command also seized 714.4 litres of drug mixture including Codeine 657.5 litres, mixture of Cannabis and Gin 50.3 litres, Pentazocine 6.6 litres and Diazepam Injection 0.07 litres.
According to him, the command secured 226 convictions with 189 pending cases from January 2025 till date at the Federal High Court Asaba and Warri respectively.
He said within the period under review, the Command also destroyed 60.2 hectares of cannabis farms at Emu-Obiogo and Innam-Abbi communities in Ndokwa West Local Government of the State.
