The North East Development Commission in collaboration with Mustapha Sports Consult, on Thursday, commenced sports competition to reduce trauma and unified factors among displaced persons in Borno state.

The Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer, Dr Mohammed Alkali, made this disclosure during the opening ceremony of the sport competition/Games Master’s Workshop organized for the IDP (Youths) in Borno.

He stressed that the commission would start with five sport which would serve as talents discovery and showcases the strength of displaced persons.

“The only thing that unites people despite their differences no doubt about is sports activities, We want the youths in the displaced camps to showcase their talents.”

“Sport is unifies factors general, it brings people together, the sports will heal the trauma and bring out of their best.” Alkali said.

He noted that the sports activities would cut across the displaced camps in Maiduguri.
