The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has announced plans to support the victims of floods with palliatives in the Northeast subregion.
The Managing Director of the commission, Muhammad Goni Alkali, stated this while inspecting roads, destroyed by flood in Yobe State.
He said the NEDC would assist the flood victims with food, healthcare services, and other domestic items.
According to him, the commission has already put a comprehensive framework to select beneficiaries from the 18 senatorial districts in six states of the region.

On the roads destroyed by flooding in the state, the NEDC boss said “We are here to verify the situation of these major roads washed away by the flooding. When we go back, we will think about what should be done quickly to make these roads accessible.”
