Mallam Aminu Kano, of blessed memory, is today regarded as one of the most successful politicians in Nigeria. But he achieved this through giving lectures to the masses. This is what our opposition leaders need to do presently. It is unfortunate that most of our people are not even aware of their rights. It is preposterous that in the 21st century Nigeria (a country blessed with abundant human and material resources) the people have become so impoverished that mere filling of pot-holed street roads or construction of culvert attracts wild jubilation from the citizenry. It has long been forgotten that this the primary duty of government for which it was elected, selected or otherwise imposed on the hapless people.
