Banditry is now part of our daily routine in the northern part of Nigeria.
People are being killed and abducted for ransom while others are forced to leave their homes to safety in other places.
Every day the government keeps assuring the citizens that they will end this unfortunate happening yet the situation is daily getting worse.
It is also strange when government keeps announcing that it is spending huge amounts on security yet the situation hardly changes.

It is pertinent to note that the northern part of Nigeria will not witness any economic progress as long as the security situation continues to deteriorate. This is because the people could not engage in meaningful economic activity that would lead to employment and boost internally generated revenue.
The present administration should not make Nigerians to lose all hope.
It is time for government to take drastic action to eliminate all forms of insecurity. It should not mind those who will shout in the name of human rights. The focus should be to do away with all those contributing to the present state of insecurity in the country.
The federal government may also seriously consider allowing the operation of state police to boost the work of the Nigeria Police.
