He said Thursday at a media symposium organised for media practitioners that China and Africa usually learn about each other through third parties particularly, the western media as a result of poor communication technology which may have led to wrong perception and misunderstandings.
Wufeng noted, “It has caused unnecessary blockages to the healthy development of China-Nigerian and China-African relation, such wrong reports cannot stop the trend of cooperation between China and Africa.   He therefore advised both countries’ media to stick to news reports that are objective, fair and that make comprehensive reports on China-Africa and China-Nigeria relations to enhance understanding between the peoples and inform them about the real developments in China and Nigeria as well as cooperation between China, Nigeria and Africa as a whole. Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Media Trust Mallam Mahmud Jega spoke on the perceptions of Africans about China, especially as China is seen as the next super power, highlighting some perceptions Africans had about the former super powers.
