The Onitsha branch of the University of Nigeria Alumni Association (UNAA) has decried the continued neglect of Zik’s Mausoleum project in Onitsha, describing it as a national shame.
The body called on the Federal Government to complete the project without further delay, having been abandoned several years after Zik was laid to rest inside the Inosi Onira Retreat.
President of the association Chris Ajugwe said yesterday at the 57th founders’ day celebration in Onitsha that it was regrettable that such a project initiated by the Federal Government during Zik’s burial in 1996 was yet to be completed.
