The premiere date for Netflix’s latest EbonyLife studios partnership, ‘Blood Sisters,’ has been set. On May 5, 2022, the script for a four-part original series directed by Biyi Bandele (‘Half of a Yellow Sun’) and Kenneth Gyang (‘Oloture’) will be released worldwide.

With Ini-dima Okojie and Nancy isime taking the lead roles, the thriller also stars Ramsey Nouah, Kate Henshaw, Uche Jombo, Segun Arinze, and Joke Silva, as well as screen favorites Wale Ojo, Gabriel Afolayan, Kehinde Bankole, Daniel Etim Effiong, Keppy Ekpenyong-Bassey, Ibrahim Suleiman, Toke Makinwa, and Okey Uzoeshi.

Speaking about the importance of relaying the narrative of the “Blood Sisters,” CEO of Ebonylife, Mo Abudu stated that; Blood Sisters is a crime thriller, which is a new genre for us, so the prospect was challenging but very exciting! It was also a particularly unique and intense experience as we shot during the pandemic, but we remained committed to the vision we share with Netflix – to tell authentic and exciting African stories with superb production values.”

The anticipated series, written by Craig Freimond and Zelipa Zulu, was shot in Lagos in September 2021 and is the newest collaboration between both parties following the past year’s ‘Castle & Castle’ and ‘Chief Daddy’ sequel.
