The Ogun State government has disclosed that the new Akarigbo-elect, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, will be officially installed and presented with the staff of office and instrument of appointment on Thursday December 7, 2017 at the Gateway Stadium, Sagamu.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Jide Ojuko, made this known at the weekend during a working visit to the monarch at the Traditional Training Court (Ipebi) in Sagamu to assess the level of preparedness for the installation.
The ministry’s Press Officer, Oluwaseun Boye, in a statement, disclosed that the Commissioner commended the sons and daughters of Sagamu and Remo kingdoms in general on the emergence of the Akarigbo-elect, which, according to him, was made possible by the people’s cooperation during and after the exercise.
He moreover enjoined the indigenes to sustain the peaceful atmosphere towards ensuring a successful installation.
In his response, the Oba-elect, Prince Ajayi, appreciated the state government for providing a level-playing ground for all contenders, commending the government for doing its best at ensuring that the Akarigbo stool did not suffer undue interregnum.
