He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Ibadan that the state government was worried that the position of head coach at the club was vacant.
Adesina however admitted that several seasoned coaches had been contacted for employment and that the eventual successful candidate would be announced soon.
“We (the state government) shall definitely get a seasoned coach before the start of the next league season,’’ he said.
Lam-Adesina said coaches such as Festus Allen, Alphonsus Dike, Monday Odigie and Okey Emordi had all been linked to the vacant post.
NAN recalls that the post had become vacant after the recent disengagement of the management team of the former Nigerian and African champions.
Adesina said however that 3SC deserves the best, and added that the state government was working towards getting the best coach for the club.
NAN recalls that the club’s performance in the last league season was not satisfactory to the state government, leading to its restructuring at the end of the season.
3SC’s Club Manager, Mutiu Adepoju, also told NAN that the club was fully prepared for optimal performance in the new football season expected to begin in January.
Adepoju, who was the club’s former General Manager, said the club had since resumed training in preparation for the new Nigerian Premier League season.(NAN)
