Mr Peter Ritchie, a Senior Consultant and Communications was received on the project, last week by the implementing partners: Nasarawa State Ministry of Lands and Urban Development and Siraj Consulting Engineers, as well as Aeroprecisa Limited, executing Digital Area Mapping (DAM), and GIS Transport providing Nasarawa Geographic Information Services; and a team of Nigeria’s leading town planners: Pragmatic Solutions Consult Nigeria, Envicons and National Environmental Design Associates, handling the planning of cadastral districts in what will give a detailed planning and development control to phase out the growth of slums in the state.
The N2.7 billion project was brought in by Ritchie to help fast track the roadmap to revenue generation, as well as to bring up the Greater Karu Area plan, an initiative which aims the creation of a business corridor at the gateway to Abuja.
 Mr Roland Klaus, Director of Aeroprecisa Limited, who introduced Ritchie to other partners at the NAGIS complex in Mararaba said he was invited to help create fora for stakeholders’ meetings with an output expected to provide government with the information about the profile of the area, the number of people living there, existing facilities, the shortfalls, all expected to aide government in directing resources for development.
 At the partners’ meeting in Mararaba where the ministry’s commissioner Sonny Agassi, Project Manager Alhaji Ibrahim Jibril, Howey Heiko and Esna Swart were present, Klaus said the meeting is a kind of preparation for the big story to come – a coordinated and planned development for the state.
 “We have started to provide maps for security agencies, for rural infrastructure. Results are coming out real huge. The governor’s big plan for CsofO in just a short time is within achievable limits. There is very much accelerated production of titles,” Jibrin said.
