Last Friday, the Eaglets whipped the junior Wasps of Rwanda 5-0 in Calabar where the team has been camping and the two teams will clash again today at 11 am at the same venue.

The two countries are using the matches to fine-tune their preparations for the qualifiers of the 2013 Africa Cadet Championship.

Speaking to Feverpitch on phone yesterday, the Eaglets coach said he will give opportunity for other players to also show what they can do when given a chance.

He also said apart from providing opportunity for other members of the team to play, it will also help in preserving some of the key players for the qualifiers which is around the corner.

Garba said injury to any of his key players at this time would prove fatal and he wants to tread cautiously.

The coach commended the players who played in the first match and expressed confidence that those who will play in today’s match would also give a good account of themselves.

He said all the players in camp are good and ready to give their best but like in any other human activity, they cannot be the same in terms of quality.

The coach who assisted late Yemi Tella to win the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Korea said he is targeting victory in the second match against the junior Wasps and so he would urge the players to double the scores.

“We intend to rest some of the players. We are going to give opportunity to other players to prosecute the second match.

“We are trying to avoid injuries to the players. We want to play safe because the qualifiers would soon commence and we cannot afford to expose some of the players to any injury.

“I am confident in the team that will play tomorrow (today). It is an opportunity for them to show what they can do. Every player in the team is good but you cannot expect all of them to be the same.

“I will urge the players to score more goals. If they can double the five that we score in the first match, I will be happy. We want to score goals so that we get used to scoring”, he said.
