New education initiative launched in Bauchi

A new education initiative, Maker Education Alliance Nigeria (MEAN), has been inaugurated in Bauchi State. ‎

MEAN was a prototype initiative of World Maker Education Alliance (WMEA), a not for profit social organisation being supported by over 30 countries. It was an effort to make Nigerians technologically innovative and economically self reliant.‎

Nigerian Coordinator of WMEA, Professor Simon Yalams said the programme was committed to stimulating critical thinking, creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation among youth for national economic development.

Vice Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Professor Saminu Ibrahim, represented by Professor O. Ogie, expressed the readiness of the university to promote entrepreneurship skills among students.
