New EU head of mission resumes duty

Ambassador Arrion who presented his letter of credence to President Goodluck Jonathan replaced Ambassador David MacRae who has since completed his duty tour in Nigeria.
Arrion, a Belgian, was previously the Head of Delegation of the EU to Rwanda. He brings with him vast experience on African and particularly West African affairs, having earlier served as Head of EU Delegation to Liberia and Cote d’Ivoire.
In a career spanning over 25 years in the Union, Ambassador Arrion, a lawyer by training, has traversed the various services of the EU.
