The newly elected executives of Zuba fruits market in Gwagwalada Area Council have been inaugurated.
Among those inaugurated were, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Talba, as Chairman; Yusuf Nakande, vice chairman; Kabiru Alfa, secretary; Sadiq Ismail, Treasurer and Hussaini Salihu, financial secretary.
Speaking at the inauguration, the chairman of the council, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, represented by the vice chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Kassim, said he was happy as the election was conducted peacefully and without rancor.
He emphasised the need for the newly inaugurated executives to ensure peace and unity amongst members and traders in the market, adding that they should ensure they also work with the outgoing executives in order to achieve their desired goals.
He congratulated the newly elected executives and urged them to embrace their opponents to carry the affairs of the market to greater heights.
Alhaji Mustapha, however, urged executive members of the fruits market to stay away from partisan politics so that the association continues to grow stronger.
In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated chairman of the fruits market, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Talba, expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and other elected executives to pilot of the affairs of the association.
He assured that the association under his leadership would carry everyone along, including the outgoing executives to ensure the market achieved its set goals.
He said the executives will soon meet to deliberate on how to come up with their seven-point agenda on the affairs of the market so that traders will feel a positive impact.
