New FCT CP, Dantawaye, assumes office

CP Miller Dantawaye has officially assumed office as the new Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Abuja Metro reports that Dantawaye, who is the 34th Commissioner of Police in the FCT, met briefly with personnel of the command on Friday.

He pledged to build on existing security frameworks and strengthen community-police partnerships to ensure the safety and security of all residents across the FCT, stressing the need for residents to continue supporting the police in their collective effort to maintain peace and security across the territory.

CP Dantawaye took over from CP Ajao S. Adewale, who was redeployed for another strategic assignment by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

CP Dantawaye, who, until his new posting, served as the Commissioner of Police for the Kogi State Command, hails from Afogo in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
