 A new Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) Centre, targeted towards training Primary school teachers from across Sokoto, is soon to be commissioned in the state.

The centre was built by the Senator who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District and Chairman, Northern Senators Forum, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

The construction of the 500-capacity ICT had been completed, the Senator’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bashir Rabe Mani disclosed.

He added that Senator Wamakko accords top priority to Science and Technological courses in the award of his scholarships.

According to him, the lawmaker   is sponsoring 125 undergraduate, and post graduate students in Pakistan, Cotonou, Uganda, Maradi and Ghana, among others.

Wamakko who is Chairman Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education, is also sponsoring 300 students in various tertiary educational institutions within Nigeria, he stated.
