Promoters of the ACTV who have already invested in excess N5 billion will be providing unique contents from entertainments, to sports, education, news, documentaries and other exciting channels.
Addressing journalists at the media launch in Lagos, Godfrey Orkeh Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of African Cable Television said the ACTV Direct To Home platform is poised to offer multi-media entertainment to customers in Nigeria who want quality content at an affordable price.
With a wide array of channels in four distinct packages, African Cable Television announced that it shall make all its channels accessible to all subscribers who sign-up to the service, he said.
 «We want all our customers to have the opportunity to access all our channels as we bring them to life starting from December 1st till December 31st so that they can choose the subscription package that best addresses their TV entertainment needs, We will be offering four packages, namely   ACTV Prime, ACTV Family, ACTV Family Max and ACTV Premium,” he added.
“We believe that our customers will spend this end of year season with a choice of TV channels that address the needs of every member of their families and friends. In order to access our service, we are offering our customers the ACTV-6000 HD PVR at an attractive price.”
The CEO further said in addition, “we have our own channels – Rana for Hausa entertainment programming, Ibile for Yoruba entertainment programming, Oji for Ibo entertainment programming, GAT TV for gospel music, and for the first time in Africa, an exclusive pidgin channel, Area TV.  In other words, we have something for everyone. That’s why we say definitively to our customers, “It’s your world.” We have no doubt our subscribers would be delighted by this mix.”

In addition, the CEO said ACTV will be investing hugely in developing local talents and programming far about the regulator requirement of at least 20 percent local content Programmes.
He explained further, at least 35 percent of the programme would be developed locally and the quota will be improved upon going forward.
African Cable Television has formerly launch with 60 channels, including 8 of its own produced channels.
ACTV was also premiered to select audience and the media at the Silver Bird Galleria and already, the cable TV is receiving rave reviews across the traditional and the new media.
