The new Aku-Uka of Wukari in Taraba State, Manu Ishaku Adda Ali, has pledged that he will do his best to promote peaceful coexistence among his subjects.
The 25th Aku-Uka made the pledge in a speech on Saturday shortly after he was presented with a staff of office by the Taraba State governor Darius Ishaku, in Wukari.
He said as a paramount ruler of the Kwararafa Empire, his first duty was to unite his subjects and also promote peace among them.
He urged his subjects to support him and avoid all acts that could breach the peace in his domain.
The new Aku-Uka also encouraged his subjects, especially the youths to give agriculture the desired attention, adding that his domain is blessed with fertile land that could bring wealth to people.
He also expressed appreciation to Governor Darius Ishaku for presenting the staff of office to him which afforded him the opportunity to ascend the throne of his forefathers.
Earlier in his address, Governor Ishaku congratulated the new Aku-Uka on ascending the throne of his forefathers and advised him to carry his subjects along and also promote peace in his domain.
