The Executive Secretary Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) Sharon Ikeazorhas has said that New Nigerian Newspaper  and Nigerian Railway pensioners would be paid their pension arrears in the first quarters of 2017.

She disclosed this in Jalingo  while fielding questions from Newsmen, adding that issue relating to the New Nigerian Newspaper pensioners have been resolved and they would be included into the pension scheme early next year.    The executive secretary explained that she held meeting with the management of New Nigerian Newspaper recently and informed them about the new development regarding the issue.

 Sharon who was in Jalingo to monitor the ongoing verification of federal pensioners said she was impressed with the conduct of the exercise adding that it was aimed at addressing difficulties faced by pensioners nationwide. She also disclosed that special arrangement would be made in order to   conduct the verification exercise  for federal pensioners in Yobe and Borno states because of the insecurity problem.
