The company’s General Manager, Marketing, Mr Andrew Ajuyah, said at its press launch in Lagos that the introduction of the new Avanza is sequel to the growing demands for the product by Nigerians.

He said the multi-purpose vehicle was first introduced into the Nigerian market in August 2007, adding that it was well accepted due to its ability to seat a large number of occupants and offer a high degree of utility.

According to the Marketing Manager, the new Avanza will come from Indonesia and his company targets hundreds of sales from it before the end of the year.

The overall length of the new Avanza is 4,140(+20), overall width, 1660(+30), overall height, 1,695(0), wheel base, 2655(0), minimum ground clearance, 200.

Its fuel consumption(km/L) is 1.5L:12.0(+1.0);1.3L:12.6(+1.0),transmission,1.3MT,1.3ATand 1.5AT(1.3MT,1.5MT/AT).

Speaking on the unique selling points for the new product, Ajuyah said it has three-row seating and many luggage space which matches its compact body.

He also said the new product ensures class-top maneuverability and drivability with minimum turning radius of 4.7m.

“200mm has been carried over making use of FR layout. It can drive over steep speed bumps, unexpected rough road and in flooded areas. The FR layout excels when starting on a steep hill, offering superior traction supplied to drive wheels to ensure drivability with man occupants and large amount of luggage”.

According to him, the new Avanza also provides excellent ride comfort and handling stability. He said the Mcpherson strut suspension and 5link suspension is carried over while the properties of the shock absorbers have been optimized.

The steering system provides excellent steering feel and an optimized driven position has been adopted, he said.

The aero dnamic bod adopted in the new Avanza has reduced the Coefficient of drag, he adds, thereby contributing to enhanced fuel economy, while its weight has been reduced contributing to enhanced fuel economy and acceleration performance.

Also, low rolling resistance tyres are adopted, control of air-conditioning and engine has been improved to reduce fuel consumption, Ajuyah said.

He further said the new brand of Avanza is designed with a sense of presence and an enhanced sense of quality.

Its exterior design fuses a spacious cabin with powerful underbody, while advanced interior design incorporates passenger vehicle style and expresses spacious sense of quality”, he adds.
