Lovers of yam will now have a taste of new and fresh tubers in their menu as it is now available at the outskirt of Abuja in Zuba and Tarfa along Kaduna Abuja expressway.

However, you will have to pay more for it as five tubers cost between N3000 and N3500 depending on the sizes.

Sellers said the yams were brought in from the southwest states of Ekiti, Ondo and more specifically from Edo State.

With the new entrant, the prices of the old yam, which is still available, is expected to drop in the coming days and making it affordable to people who hitherto cannot buy due to high prices.

More places are likely to also witness new harvest in the coming days.
