NFF announces State Federation Cup kick-off dates

The Nigeria Football Federation has announced the dates for the 2024 Federation Cup men and women competitions kick-off.

The registration of interested Clubs by the Football Associations in the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory will begin today.

Following the one-month registration period, the State FAs will deliver the finished player licenses to the NFF for production between December 1, 2023, and December 8, 2023, in time for the start of the State competition, which is slated to run from January 20, 2024, to February 25, 2024.

Each State FA and the FCT FA will on 26th February 2024, provide the NFF with its two representatives for the national competition.

Registration fee by clubs for the men’s competition has been pegged at N150,000 while clubs interested in participating in the women’s competition will pay the sum of N100,000 each. Late registration for the men’s competition will be N200,000 and N120,000 for the women’s competition.

The 2023 Federation Cup was won by Bendel Insurance and Bayelsa Queens, who split the N25m prize money.

Insurance defeated Enugu Ranges 1-0 to win the men’s category and ended their 43-year drought without a significant victory.

In the women’s category, Bayelsa Queens FC defeated Rivers Angels FC 4-2 on penalties after the match ended goalless in regulation time.
