Amana Grains Suppliers Association, a non-governmental organisation, has asked the Federal Government to reverse its policy which allows the importation of grains.

This was contained in a release signed by chairman of the association, Alhaji Haruna Muhammad and other members. It said the organaisation has learnt that the government has granted license to some companies to import grains, such as white  and red  maize,  brown and white  sorghum  and  Soya  beans amidst prediction of bumper  harvest by the  Nigerian  farmers. 

The association further pointed out that the country has fully embraced farming and was committed to meet the target set by the federal government, but that the current importation will crash the price of maize.
