A two year development plan is being worked upon by Queen Dija Women and Children awareness initiative aimed at achieving effective results in its crusade against social vices affecting women and children.

The chairperson, Kadijat Saulawa in a chat with Kano Chronicle said most of the programmes intended to be executed are through partnerships with relevant stakeholders.

According to him, drug abuse campaigns by the initiative have commence in earnest noting that ‘ so far the campaigns have reached three secondary schools with more in the pipeline’

‘ Aside drugs issues sensitisation out reach campaigns which we are undertaken in collaboration with NDLEA, we want to start on mensural hygiene especially as it affects the girl child’ she said

While calling on all parents especially mothers to closely monitor their children with a view to uncovering strange behaviours, Saulawa said the forum is committed towards ensuring the well being of mothers and children.
